Plan your tasks before traveling by train. Prepare your work and choose "train-friendly" tasks such as reading or writing. Not quiet enough on the train? Invest in noise-cancelling headphones that filter out ambient noise. Make sure you have a stable Internet connection. Besides NS wifi, this can be the hotspot on your smartphone. Make sure your laptop and/or phone is sufficiently charged if you are going to work on the train. Although you can usually charge on the train, there may be times when you can't. Bringing a power bank is also a good idea. Make use of cloud storage. That way you can work on your documents anytime, anywhere, even if you switch between different devices. Use your travel time to make new plans. The train is a perfect place for this. Look out the window and let your thoughts run wild. Write down ideas to work on later. Plan your travel time strategically. If your schedule permits, try to travel during off-peak hours. Then it is often quieter on the train and easier to find a nice.
