Cancelling an NS-Business Card

Cancelling an NS-Business Card

To cancel an NS-business Card, simply complete the two steps described below.

  1. The employer must submit a cancellation request at Mijn NS Zakelijk.
  2. After that, the cancellation can be completed by the employee/card holder at any NS ticket machine or top-up point.

Self-employed entrepreneurs and card holders with employer authorisation can perform both steps themselves.

1. Registration cancellation (employers)

The authorised card holder or employer can cancel the NS-Business Card via Mijn NS Zakelijk.

How it works:

  • Select the NS-Business Card you would like to cancel.
  • Choose the desired cancellation date.
  • The card holder will receive an e-mail confirmation with further instructions.

The NS-business Card is officially cancelled when the card holder cancels his or her NS-Business Card at an NS Ticket Machine or OV-chipkaart top-up point.

2. Completing the cancellation at an NS Ticket Machine (employee)

Your NS-Business Card holds a variety of travel products. The OV posts at the stations and in the bus, tram or metro can recognise these products, which allows NS to send an invoice for the journeys made. When the NS-Business Card is cancelled, these products must be removed from your card.

How it works:

  • Go to an NS Ticket Machine or an OV-chipkaart top-up point.
  • Make sure that you are not checked in, and hold the card in front of the card reader at the bottom right.
  • Select 'Download order' and follow the instructions on the screen.

This will definitively cancel your NS-Business Card as of the selected cancellation date. You can continue to travel with your card until that date.

If you do not delete the products at an NS Ticket Machine or OV-chipkaart top-up point, your NS-Business Card will remain active.

Cancelling departmental or company cards

Departmental or company cards cannot be changed. Only personal NS-Business Cards can be changed. If you would like to change a departmental card then you have to cancel the current card and order a new NS-Business Card for your department.

Cancelling season tickets on the NS-Business Card

Transfer to a more expensive season ticket is always possible. Cancellation or transfer to a cheaper season ticket is possible after 1 month notice. Are you the contact person at your company or the authorised card holder? Then you can easily arrange this online using Mijn NS Zakelijk.

Refunds upon cancellation of a season ticket or route

You receive reimbursement of the season ticket costs (Dal, Traject Vrij, Trein Vrij and OV Vrij) for the remaining months of the year that has been paid for.
