Information about the use of photos taken by an NS employee or a photographer hired by NS at an event, and that may be published on an NS website or social media channel.
What personal data do we use?
At events, such as sports or music events, photos may be taken by an NS employee or a photographer hired by NS.
What do we use your personal data for?
We will give you a print of your photo as a memento. We may also publish the photo featuring you on an NS website or social media channel, including but not limited to ns.nl, reisjefit.nl or the Facebook page or Instagram account for Reis je fit. NS will store your digital photo on these media channels so you can always access, download and share your photo.
The basis for processing your data is: consent.
At an event, you may be asked by an NS employee or a photographer hired by NS to appear in a photo. They will identify themselves as an NS employee or a photographer for NS, and will inform you about the purpose of the photo and where it is to be published. They will also inform you that if you do not wish to have your photo published, you must indicate this explicitly. They will then advise you not to appear in the photo.
Children below the age of 16 must have parental permission to appear in a photo. AN NS employee or photographer hired by NS will expressly request the permission of the parent(s) or guardian(s) before photographing the children concerned.
If you choose to appear in a photo, we will give you a copy as a memento. A link to this privacy statement is included on the back of the photo with information about matters such as withdrawing your permission.
You may withdraw your permission at any time by sending an email to sponsorverzoek@ns.nl. Within a maximum of 10 days, your photo will be removed from the website and/or social media channels on which it has been published.
With whom do we share data?
We contract third parties to provide IT services. These third parties process our data solely for our own internal use, and for no other purpose. We have made agreements with these parties pertaining to the processing of personal data.
We are authorised to provide your personal data to parties outside the European Economic Community under certain circumstances. In that event, we will take suitable measures with these parties, for example by agreeing to the standard provisions required by the European Commission.
As stated above, we may publish a photo featuring you on an NS website or social media channel, including but not limited to ns.nl, reisjefit.nl or the Facebook page or Instagram account for Reis je fit.
How long do we store your data?
Your photos will be stored for a maximum of 2 years and published on an NS website or social media page or account belonging to NS. During this period, you may download the photo and/or share the photo with friends, family, etc.
