Whether you are going out for a day yourself, visiting a museum with friends or having a day out with the grandchildren; you choose when you use Keuzedagen. You pay € 94.70 per year for Dal Voordeel and Keuzedagen together.

What do you order:

  • Dal Voordeel on balance season ticket. With this you travel all year round with a 40% discount during off-peak hours, at the weekend and on public holidays. You load balance onto your OV-chipkaart to travel.
  • 7 Keuzedagen. With this you travel unlimited on your chosen day during off-peak hours, at the weekend and on public holidays.

Keuzedagen cannot be combined with an NS Flex season ticket.

Dal Voordeel on balance with Keuzedagen costs:

  • € 94.70 per year in 2nd class. That is the equivalent of € 7.90 per month.
  • € 120.90 per year in 1st class. That is the equivalent of € 10 per month.

You cannot buy Keuzedagen separately. They are valid if you have a Dal Voordeel on balance season ticket.

  • I already have a season ticket and I am 60+. How do I order Keuzedagen?

    How you order Choice Days depends on your situation.

     

    I have a Dal Voordeel on balance season ticket without Keuzedagen

    You can order Keuzedagen via NS Customer Service.

     

    I have an NS Flex season ticket. For example, NS Flex Dal Voordeel.

    You cannot order Keuzedagen with an NS Flex season ticket. You need a Dal Voordeel on balance season ticket.

    You can follow the following steps:

    1. Cancel your NS Flex season ticket.
    2. Remove your NS Flex season ticket from your OV-chipkaart at the NS ticket machine.
    3. Order Dal Voordeel on balance with Keuzedagen in our webshop.
    4. Put your new season ticket on your OV-chipkaart at the NS ticket machine.

    Don't you remember which season ticket you have? You can find the product name of your season ticket when you log in to My NS. Under 'My Products'.

  • When will I receive my Keuzedagen?

    You buy 7 Keuzedagen per year with which you can travel freely on any route in the Netherlands. Your Keuzedagen are immediately available. If you use one, the next Keuzedag will be ready for you the next day. Your Keuzedagen all have the same validity, namely one year. That year is the same as the subscription year of your Dal Voordeel season ticket.

    We will send you an email when a new Keuzedag is ready for you. You can also view your available Keuzedagen online by logging in to My NS.

  • When are Keuzedagen valid?

    You can use Keuzedagen for off-peak travel. Keuzedagen are not valid during morning and afternoon rush hours.

    The off-peak hours are:

    • during the week between 9:00 and 16:00 and between 18:30 and 06:30.
    • on weekends and public holidays Keuzedagen are valid all day.

    The time of check-in determines whether you travel during off-peak hours. Read more about the validity of Keuzedagen.

  • How long are my Keuzedagen valid?

    Your Keuzedagen all have the same validity, namely one year. That year runs parallel to the subscription year of your Dal Voordeel season tickets. If you do not use a Keuzedagen within the 12-month period, it will automatically expire after the end date.

  • How do I collect my Keuzedagen from the NS ticket machine?

    This is how you collect a Keuzedag from an NS ticket machine:

    1. Go to an NS ticket machine at the station with your OV-chipkaart.
    2. Hold the card against the card reader, at the bottom right of the machine's screen.
    3. Select 'Ophalen Keuzedag'.
    4. Click on 'Akkoord'.
    5. Hold your OV-chipkaart against the card reader again until you see a confirmation.

    Complete the steps? Then the Keuzedag has been added to your OV-chipkaart. The next trip you make during off-peak hours will count as a Keuzedag. Repeat these steps every time you want to travel with a Keuzedag. Checking in and out is mandatory, also with Keuzedagen.
