Station renovations
In close consultation with ProRail and municipalities, NS Stations is investing in a large number of major stations in the Netherlands, in order to accommodate increased numbers of travellers and to better meet the needs of those travellers. The largest stations had already been renovated and completed over the past few years, such as Rotterdam Centraal (2014), Den Haag Centraal (2016) and Utrecht Centraal (2017). Stations that have been completed more recently to make them ready for the future include Zaandam, Rotterdam Alexander, Den Haag HS, Amsterdam Amstel, Maastricht, Castricum, Gouda, Almere Centrum, Roermond and Naarden-Bussum.
Stations that are currently being renovated or that are scheduled for renovations in the near future include Groningen, Ede-Wageningen, Middelburg, Venlo, Nijmegen, Nijmegen Heyendaal, Amsterdam Zuid, Amsterdam Lelylaan, Schiphol and Amsterdam Centraal.
