Contest Terms and Conditions

NS Reizigers B.V. and NS Internationaal B.V. Terms and Conditions for contests via the Facebook channels of Nederlandse Spoorwegen, Spoordeelwinkel, and NS International.


These Terms and Conditions apply to all contests held via the Facebook channels of Nederlandse Spoorwegen, Spoordeelwinkel and NS International, as organised by NS Reizigers B.V., with its statutory address at Laan van Puntenburg 100, 3511 ER, Utrecht, and/or NS Internationaal B.V., with its statutory address at Stationsplein 25, 1012 AB, Amsterdam (hereafter jointly referred to as 'NS').

These contests are intended for the promotion of various NS products and services, as specified for the relevant contest, and consist of NS reacting to messages from NS' fans on the NS Facebook channels (each individual contest specified on Facebook is hereafter referred to as 'the Contest'), for the period specified on the relevant Facebook page (hereafter referred to as 'the Contest Period').

By participating in the Contest, the participant agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Participation in the Contest

1.1. By responding to the question asked on the relevant NS Facebook page, the participant officially participates in the Contest.
1.2. Every natural person with a Facebook account may participate in the Contest one time. Minors must receive the permission of their parent or guardian prior to participating in the Contest.
1.3. It is only possible to participate in the Contest during the Contest Period.
1.4. No costs are involved in the Contest. The participant shall bear any costs for the use of Internet or an Internet connection in order to participate in the Contest.
1.5. NS may disqualify a participant or participants if NS is of the opinion that the participant(s) are not in compliance with the Contest Terms and Conditions, or that the participant(s) have otherwise behaved in an inappropriate manner, at the exclusive discretion of NS.
1.6 NS employees are prohibited from participating in the Contest.

2. The Prize

2.1. NS determines the Prize for each Contest in advance. The Prize for the relevant Contest is described on the Facebook channels.
2.2. The value of the Prize and the total number of Prizes to be awarded differs per Contest, and shall be communicated along with the Contest announcement.
2.3. The Contest winner(s) shall be chosen in an impartial manner. The winner or winners of the Contest shall be determined based on an evaluation of the reply. The reply which is the best or most creative in the opinion of the Jury shall be chosen as the winner.
2.4. The winner(s) shall be announced via the relevant Facebook channel. The other participants shall not be informed personally. The jury will not enter into any form of communication about the course or the result of the contest.
2.5. The Prize may not be exchanged for cash or other products and/or services.
2.6. The winner(s) shall be asked to provide his/her contact details to NS, in order to present the Prize. If the winner is a minor, then he/she must first ask permission from his/her parent or guardian. If the winner does not provide his/her contact details within 5 working days, then NS will not present the Prize and the Prize shall lapse.

3. NS Liability

3.1. NS devotes the greatest possible care to the organisation of the Contest. Nevertheless, it is possible that the information provided or provided is incomplete or incorrect. Any inaccuracies, misspellings or other similar errors can not be enforced against NS, nor create any obligation and / or liability for NS.
3.2. NS may not be held liable for any damages resulting from participation in the Contest, or as a result of the use, delivery, or utilisation of the prizes awarded.
3.3. NS is not responsible for the consequences of computer- and/or Internet malfunctions, and excludes all liability in the event that participation is (temporarily) impossible as a result of any malfunction.

4. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions

4.1. NS may change the Contest and/or the Contest Terms and Conditions during the duration of the Contest at its sole discretion and without prior notification, or without giving any reason to stop this Contest, without NS being in any way liable for compensation of damage..

5. Questions and/or complaints

5.1. Any questions, comments, and/or complaints about the Contest may be submitted to NS via the NS Facebook channels.
5.2. You may also contact NS Customer Service, Postbus 2025, 3500 HA, Utrecht, or via telephone at: 030-751 5155 (available day and night). NS shall answer such in writing or via e-mail within four weeks, or shall inform you of when to expect an answer.
